Interislander Ferry

Wellington, New Zealand

Experience a wonderful short sea voyage on the Interislander (3.5 hours one way) - a road and rail ferry service across New Zealand's Cook Strait, between Wellington in the North Island and Picton in the South Island. It is owned and operated by state-owned rail operator KiwiRail.

Marvel at the beauty of the Marlborough Sounds water-way.

Spend time on the very scenic Picton foreshore, visit (a short drive) the Waikawa boat marina, the biggest in the South Island. Enjoy the many cafes and bars waterfront.

Picton is the gateway to the beautiful South Island (mainland!)

.

Sailing through the delightful Marlborough Sounds is deightful
